Unless Kids is a fun, sustainable and convenient membership-based toy buying platform for you to get the toys your kids want and get rid of the toys they don’t, all in one easy solution.
Want to join the pilot?
Thanks to the many families who provided toys during our collection campaign, we have an incredible stock of toys that are making their way on our platform as we speak. We plan to have the platform up and running as a pilot program to serve a group of families in the following zipcodes: 19122, 19123, 19125 and 19134.
Our goal with the pilot is to further refine our operations and platform based on feedback from the users in the pilot. If you live in these zipcodes and want to take part in this pilot to have early access to some amazing toys and shape the future of Unless Kids, please email us at info@unlesskids.com and we’ll put you on the list.

What is the Unless Kids pilot?
Unless Kids has ambitious plans for the future of our platform. However, even the most well-laid plans need real-world testing to ensure we’ve considered every angle for creating the best possible Unless Kids customer experience.
Many companies, particularly in tech, launch “beta” versions to gather user feedback and refine functionality. But Unless Kids runs on more than just good technology. We’re a revolutionary circular retail system, and testing extends far beyond the tech. We need to ensure efficient two-way logistics, delivering toys when you need them and retrieving them when playtime’s over. Warehouse operations need optimization, and of course, we need the best toy selection imaginable.
In short, “beta” doesn’t suffice. We require a full-fledged pilot to test every facet of our business – technology, operations, and the entire customer journey. This pilot will run for a limited timeframe with a select group of users. However, the insights and data gleaned will have an immense impact, providing the crucial real-world experience needed to fully realize our revolutionary concept.
How long does the pilot last?
The pilot will last approximately 6 months from mid spring to mid fall 2024.
Who can be in the pilot?
We are inviting families in the 19125, 19122, 19123 and 19134 zip codes to take part. A huge benefit of Unless Kids is local delivery right to your door. And since our warehouse is in the Philadelphia Riverwards, and many of our early adopters are in the Riverwards, we are focusing on these neighborhoods to ensure a quality service and experience even as part of the pilot!
What is expected of me if I am a part of the pilot?
The biggest thing we’re asking you to do is use and enjoy the Unless Kids platform. We have an incredible variety of pre-owned toys for ages 1-10 that are in great condition and always at a discount. Your use of the platform will inform how our technology and operations are working. We will also ask for feedback after each purchase and swap. This feedback will be through a survey that we will send. However, we are always available for direct feedback via email and we may ask members to volunteer for more in-depth interviews about their experience with the platform.
Is there a membership fee involved?
There is no membership fee for taking part in the pilot. We’re happy you are a part of it, and we want to encourage your participation and feedback.
What if I already have free membership months from the toys I gave during toy collection events and pickups?
Not to worry. Your membership info is logged in our systems, and when we fully go live post pilot and open the platform up to more neighborhoods in Philadelphia, the free months of membership that you accumulated will be honored.
Do the toys cost money?
Yes, but regardless of condition, ALL toys will be priced at a discount based on their condition in relation to the original MSRP, as well as a further “circularity discount” that we apply to all Unless Kids toys to make it even more of a value to return to us when your child is done playing with the toy. We can give those discounts because it’s our goal for members to return the toys when they’re done with them and want them out of the house. That’s the beauty of Unless Kids! We call giving toys back “swaps” and by getting these toys back, we’re not just helping you reduce clutter, but it also allows us to provide discounts as we find new homes for those toys.
How often do I need to buy toys, and how many toys can I buy during the pilot?
The Unless Kids platform is engineered to allow parents to buy what they want when they want it. So there is no limit on how many toys you can buy during the pilot, and there is no requirement for frequency. Our goal is that when you’re done with toys, and you make a new purchase, you package up the toys that your child no longer wants to play with so we can pick them up when we deliver the new toys. However, if you do decide to keep a toy beyond the length of the pilot, we will charge you the difference between what you paid and the standard retail price of that toy based on its condition.
What’s next after the pilot?
Once the pilot is complete, Unless Kids will have the further insights and the resources to scale our platform and grow our company to serve more neighborhoods in Philadelphia. We have big plans for this, but it all starts right now with this pilot, and we’re excited for you to be a part of it.
Who do I contact if I have a problem during the pilot?
We will be refining our communications systems throughout the pilot. But you can always reach a real live human at help@unlesskids.com if you have any issues with the platform.

Thanks for your investment and belief in Unless Kids. Together, we can make toy chaos a thing of the past!
